Care Facility Gets Green Light

Surviving a lengthy and excruciatingly detailed examination of its financial and operational plans, Integrated Care Communities received the blessing of the Moreno Valley City Council to proceed with final plans to build a state-of-the-art healthcare facility in Moreno Valley.

Groundbreaking is expected soon for the innovative, multi-level care facility adjacent to the County’s Regional Medical Center. The first phase of the new Assisted Living Residences, consisting of four 6,000 square foot homes for up to 14 people each, is expected open next Fall.

Under the visionary guidance of Dr. Carl Rowe, a nonprofit organization, ICARE, has been created to ensure pricing at the ICC homes will be affordable while care is maintained at the highest standards. The first phase of the ICARE campus will provide care to individuals with chronic diseases such as diabetes, crippling arthritis, hypertension, hospice and Alzheimer’s.

The ICARE plans call for three well-balanced meals served daily in a common “luxury” dining room as well as aquariums, a solarium, hydrotherapy, and a wellness center with massage and aromatherapy. Another unique feature for guests will be real-time video-conferencing with families and friends at the touch of a button.

A Child Day Care Center, to be included in the second phase of the campus opening in the Fall of 2001, will offer service at extended hours (6:30 am to 11:30 pm) and the capability of providing care for children with special needs such as cerebral palsy, cystic fibrosis, epilepsy or mental retardation.

A third phase, which will include a Skilled Nursing Facility and Adult Day Health Care Center, is expected to complete the ICARE project in the Fall of 2003.
